Instructions for oral presentations

  • All presentations are allocated a certain timeslot:

    Keynotes/Plenary Lectures: we have foreseen 50 minutes for each keynote/plenary presentation: this includes a 40-minute presentation, followed by a Q&A (10 minutes).

    Invited talks: we have foreseen 30 minutes for each invited oral presentation: this includes a 25-minute presentation, followed by a short Q&A (5 minutes).

    Orals talks: we have foreseen 15 minutes for each oral presentation: this includes a 12-minute presentation, followed by a short Q&A (3 minutes).

  • Please prepare your presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint or PDF format.
  • We kindly ask you not to bring your own laptop, but to bring your presentation on a USB key, as a laptop will be provided in each auditory/lecture room. Changing laptops takes valuable time and might cause technical difficulties. Supported presentation formats are Microsoft PowerPoint (2019) and PDF for Windows 10.
  • Should you wish to use animations/movies in your presentation, please be sure that they are embedded and that there are no missing links.
  • Presentations can be copied to the meeting laptop before the start of the session in the room where your presentation will take place. We kindly ask you to be in the room 15 minutes before the start of your session/workshop/symposium. Please use this time also to locate and present yourself to the chair of your session.
  • Please find below an overview of the screen resolution of the beamers in each lecture room, as this might help you prepare your presentation:
  • If your oral presentation is online, in order to prevent network anomalies from occurring during your report, please upload a video or PowerPoint recording file of your presentation and your biography with no more than 100 words to our submission system before September 13, 2023.

Instructions for poster presentations

  • There are 2 poster sessions: one is on 19 September, and the other, on 20 September. All sessions will take place in the halls next to the lecture rooms. A map of the venue will be provided.
  • All posters in each session will be on display for the whole day (From 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM). As poster presenter, we kindly ask you to be present next to where your poster is allocated during the dedicated poster session, and during the coffee and lunch breaks on that same day. This will give you the opportunity to meet and discuss your work with the other conference delegates.
  • On one of the poster panels, we will provide the list with poster numbers. Please look up your poster number on the on-site poster panel, and attach your poster to the panel with the corresponding number. Attachment materials will be provided by us.
  • Posters should be brought to the conference and not mailed. We do not have any facilities to print your poster onsite.
  • Should you wish to print your poster in Beijing, upon arriving in Beijing, you could go to one of the following print shops. Please note we did not make any arrangements with these centers, and there are no discounts foreseen for ICU delegates.

  • Presenters are responsible for posting and removing their own materials. All posters should be attached to the correct panel on the day of their poster session between 08:00 AM to 09:30 AM. All posters should be removed at the end of the session day, after the conference sessions (6:00PM). Posters that have not been removed will be dismounted and ditched by the meeting organization.
  • Poster size = A0 size

    o Poster orientation = portrait (Please note that a poster in landscape format will NOT fit on the panels). The panel size is 1m in width and 2m in height.

    o Attachment materials will be provided by us.

    o Be sure to include the following elements on your poster: 1) the title; 2) author names, affiliations, and corresponding e-mail addresses.

  • If your poster presentation is online, please upload your poster file before September 13, 2023.
  • All the on-site poster presenters are encouraged to upload the poster files before September 13, 2023, so that the posters can be browsed on the official website by more people during the meeting.

 

Instructions for online meeting

  • The organizer will set up the online meeting room (Zoom platform) for delegates who cannot attend the meeting on-site.
  • If you have an online presentation, please download Zoom software through the link:https://zoom.us
  • Please test the microphone and camera on your computer or laptop in advance to ensure they work properly.
  • The organizer will update the Zoom link for the online meeting room on the conference website. Please follow the conference website updates.
  • If you want your posters to be shown online, please go to our website at http://www.2021icu.org.cn and log into your account and follow the instructions to upload your posters. Once we get your e-version posters (in PDF form), we will show them on our online platform.
  • The deadline for online presentation submission is September 13, 2023.
  • Online meeting pre-testing:
    For first meeting rooms of each day: will be opened 30mins in advance for pre-testing.
    Other meeting rooms: will be opened 15mins in advance for pre-testing. When you enter the online meeting rooms, volunteers will help you with the testing.
